Taipei, February 26, 2004 - ATEN International Co. Ltd., a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions for the IT industry, today announced the release of their 4 and 8 port dual interface KVM switches with audio capability. The CS-1754 and the CS-1758 USB KVM Switches are control units that permit the monitoring and control of up to 4 ( CS-1754 ) or 8 ( CS-1758 ) computers from a single USB keyboard, USB mouse, and monitor.

ATEN's CS-1754 / 1758 4 and 8 Port USB and PS/2 KVM Switches provide an administrator with the versatility of USB and PS/2 interface coexistence. Featuring audio support, the CS-1754 / 1758 also utilizes tomorrow's USB generation data transfer speeds and ease of compatibility. Cascade to three levels controlling up to 64 computers with 21 CS-1754 units, or 512 computers with 73 CS-1758 units. Each CS-1754 and CS-1758 USB KVM Switch is rack-mountable and supports Windows, Mac, Linux and Sun Solaris, providing many upgrading enterprises with a reliable investment for universal connection and long term use.

The CS-1754 / 1758 also provides multimedia keyboard support ( volume up/down, mute and pulse ), and is speaker and microphone enabled. A single microphone can provide audio input to each of the computers; one can listen to the audio output of each computer on a single set of speakers ( on a one-at-a-time basis ). Computer selection is made simple through front panel switches, an intuitive On-Screen Display ( OSD ) and Hotkeys. Error free booting is guaranteed through complete keyboard emulation, and superior video quality is assured utilizing resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536.

" Our latest KVM switches provide users with exceptional capabilities," says Michael Yang, Associate Vice President at ATEN International. "There is no better way to save time and money than with a CS-1754 or CS-1758 installation. A single console manages all of the computers, eliminating the expense of having to purchase a separate keyboard, monitor, and mouse for each computer. This ultimately saves the space those extra components would occupy, conserves energy costs and eliminates the inconvenience and wasted effort involved in constantly moving from one computer to another."

Setting up the CS-1754 / 1758 is fast and easy by simply plugging each cable into its appropriate port. Each CS-1754 or CS-1758 package includes one firmware upgrade cable, one power adapter, one user manual and one quick start guide.
About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
