Taipei - May 7, 2004 - ATEN International Co. Ltd., a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions for the IT industry, today announced its participation at Computex Exhibition 2004 in Taipei, Taiwan ( Hall 1, Booth D408, D408D, D410, D410D ) from June 1st to the 5th. The hardware specialist will be showcasing its complete product range of connectivity solutions for both enterprise and end user markets.

" With these new enterprise products, Aten meets the increasing demand for IP-based high-end KVM products. Brought together under the same installation, KM0432, CN-6000 and CP-0108 represent the most comprehensive IP based scheme for managing servers from down the hall, across a town or in another country " explains Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International.
" IP based KVM solutions are the primary driver of growth of the KVM Switch market which Aten has been playing a leading role in for more than 20 years. "
New Aten products showcased at Computex :

KM0432 Matrix KVM Switch

Within the server room, the KM0432 represents the most practical method for controlling large numbers of computers for continually expanding enterprises. ATEN's innovative design supports up to 4,096 computers by daisy chaining multiple KM0432's together while also cascading multiple 8 or 16 port KVM switches from each KM0432 unit. By daisy chaining and cascading in tandem, this generates an exponentially high number of computers which ATEN has skillfully organized into segments across the installation for optimal administrative efficiency. KM0432 also supports multiple platforms( PC,Mac,Sun and Linux ) using CAT5 to PS/2 and CAT5 to USB adapter cables. Enterprises can now effectively increase the number of administrators, as well as the volume of equipment within the server   room based on their immediate needs.

CN-6000 KVM on the NET

As the demand for dependable remote access to servers and KVM installations steadily increases, ATEN's CN-6000 remote server management is bridging this gap by saving time, reducing travel costs, and ensuring 100% uptime. The CN-6000's browser-based client softwar works with all operating platforms and allows the user to connect  from anywhere on the Internet.Occupying zero units ( 0U ) and mounting  on either side or the rear of the rack, the CN-6000 is more compact than any model of its kind, generating more rack space and increasing the potential of any server room.

CP0108 Power over the NET

The third enterprise product that will be highlighted is an essential addition to any server room equipped or equipping a KVM over IP switch installation. Aten's new CP-0108 Power over the Net has revolutionized the function of the CN-6000 KVM over the Net by allowing full control of  prebooting and rebooting functions. The additional RS-232 port gives IT administrators the freedom to not only remotely shut down systems, but reboot any computer or server on the installation leading to faster and more efficient server maintenance and guaranteeing 100% uptime.
Apart from the IP-based solutions, a further product that will be presented for the first time is the new 8 port PS/2 KVM switch- ALTUSEN KH88 that enables the control up to 8 computers. With a 3 level cascade, the KH88 even allows the control of up to 512 computers and fits any rack depth with its adjustable front panel. This extraordinary feature provides IT professionals with fast and painless cable connections in a clearly arranged and user-friendly functioning rack. There are also another two new DVI products that will be first introduced to customers during the exhibition.

About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
