KVM Switch Solutions Create Hassle-free Server Management Environmen

ATEN INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD. a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions for the IT industry, announced today its participation at INVEX 2004 in Brno, Czech Republic (Hall 15, Booth C-37) from October .

The hardware specialist will be showcasing its complete line of connectivity solutions, targeting both the end user and the enterprise markets. The company is also taking this opportunity to look for new partners in the Czech Republic.

"The global market for KVM switches reached $545 million in 2002 and is expected to grow to $927 million by 2006. Our participation on major European IT shows, including INVEX, mirrors also the growth that we have made over the past 20 years, developing from an OEM manufacturer to the leading brand recognized in its own right. ATEN has earned around 60% of the entry to medium level KVM switch market share worldwide, because we are offering high end quality and advanced technology, also in the small and medium market segments", commented Siimon Tsai, Marketing and Sales Director for Central and Eastern Europe.

One of the highlights at ATEN booth will be the audio enabled DVI KVM switch for SOHO and enterprise environments. These unique 2 and 4 port KVM Switches permit one DVI flat panel display and one PC or Macintosh keyboard and mouse combination to effortlessly control 2 (CS 1762) or 4 (CS-1764) DVI enabled computers without the distortion associated with analog to digital conversion.

ATEN responds to increased availability of USB enabled PCs on the market with its new 2 and 4 port USB 2.0 peripheral switches (US-221 and US-421) that enable 2 or 4 PCs to share a single USB peripheral on a one-at-a-time basis using a simple hotkey, the front panel push button, or Windows AP control software to transfer peripheral control among actively connected PCs, having the transfer rates of 1,5, 12 and 480 Mbps. Both USB devices can be easily attached and removed without resetting the system.

In the enterprise area, ATEN will showcase its new 8 port PS/2 Altusen KH 88. One single console KH 88 allows the control of up to 8 computers, when cascaded to 3 levels, the administrator will control up to 512 computers. With a two-level (administrator/user) password authorization this switch meets the required standards of enhanced security protection. Thanks to its adjustable front panel, the KH 88 can be easily installed from the front or from rear side of the rack and therefore fits any rack depth in any server room.

The advanced IP-based solutions and KVM switches that support PS/2 and USB computers will also be demonstrated. Apart from KVM solutions, visitors can experience the cutting-edged functions that provided by ATEN's complete video and USB solutions as well during INVEX.
About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
