CS-1762/CS-1764 Ensures Maximum Benefit in using DVI Workstation

ATEN INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD. a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions, today announced the release of its new 2 and 4 port USB embedded DVI KVMP Switches - CS-1762/CS-1764 for multiple DVI enabled PC and MAC owners, a DVI-friendly SOHO environment, and technology enthusiasts who wish to make most of their DVI-friendly environment.

The unique USB enabled CS-1762 and CS-1764 DVI KVMP Switches permit one DVI flat panel display and one USB keyboard and USB mouse combination to effortlessly control 2 (CS-1762) or 4 (CS-1764) DVI enabled PC and/or Mac computers without the distortion associated with analog to digital conversion.

In the next several years, DVI connections will be used in PCs, set top boxes, plasma TVs, DVD players, and projectors. This market is forecast to grow 100% annually for the next several years worldwide, according to InStat/MDR, a well-known research firm.

"From laptop to the microwave, advanced displays are changing the way we live. There is an emerging demand to make digital content available seamlessly with PCs, portable devices, game consoles, audio components and set-top boxes all sharing the same signals," said Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "With this complete USB/DVI solution, ATEN offers the perfect solution for tomorrow's digital display and ensures maximum benefit to your DVI workstation at minimal expense of your desktop space."

Today's end-users often experience loss of video signals when switching between their computers and the need to restart the computer in order to receive the video signal. However, with the DDC2B emulation technology that is used in the new DVI products, ATEN has overcome this issue; it allows users to easily switch between computers without loosing the video image. Furthermore, users can precisely switch into the video image of a particular computer that they wish to connect to.

In the past ATEN has offered only enterprise products with DDC2B emulation technology, but now it presents the new DVI-friendly SOHO products, CS-1762 and CS-1764, which differentiate this product line with other ATEN SOHO products, to better serve the rapid growth of the DVI market.

ATEN's CS-1762 and CS-1764 DVI KVMP Switches support multi-platforms and have embedded USB capability, which allow asynchronous switching between PC and/or Mac, USB peripherals, and audio devices. In addition, the new space saving CS-1762 and CS-1764 are fully audio enabled, and utilize front panel push buttons or convenient hotkeys for switching between computers.
About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
