Remote Guardian for Sever Room Environmental Conditions

ATEN launches the ALTUSEN GN0116, Guardian Over the NET, that controls the health of critical computer systems in data centers and server rooms remotely over TCP/IP
Taipei, January 27th 2006. ATEN International, leading provider of connectivity solutions, extends its ALTUSEN Over the NET product line with the introduction of the GN0116 Guardian Over the NET, a rack mountable unit for remote monitoring and management of environmental conditions in server rooms. The GN0116 enables users to survey and regulate conditions like temperature, power, humidity or smoke from any anywhere through the Internet, and secure the smooth performance of critical IT systems. With its advanced features and ease of operation, the GN0116 is the most convenient, efficient, reliable, and cost effective way for administrators to monitor and manage their server environment.

The ALTUSEN GN0116, Guardian Over the NET, is designed to ensure the ideal environmental conditions for data centers. This UL and TUV approved server room protection device allows users to individually define the environmental settings (temperature, humidity, voltage, current, etc.) for their IT systems and monitor irregular incidents. Alert messages are sent out immediately to notify the users whenever there is problem occurred.

The GN0116 is provided with 2 digital inputs and 16 digital output sensors (4 resistance type analog input ports, 2 voltage type analog input ports, 2 digital input ports and 8 digital output ports) for the regulation of the equipment's health via individually controlled ports. With one administrator and up to four users, the unit offers multiple remote access and thus provides safety and security at a maximum. Additionally, LEDs on the device allow an easy onsite status monitoring.

"Today's enterprises rely on the continuance of their business processes and have to secure that their most valuable IT systems are running uncompromisingly smooth and properly 24 hours, 7 days a week." says Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "ATEN underlines its commitment to deliver total server room management solutions that help organizations to meet their business needs in the most efficient and cost effective way: With the introduction of the GN0116 Guardian Over the NET, customers can control and protect computing environments easily, at anytime from anywhere in the world."

For remote management of environmental conditions in large enterprise's data centers up to 255 additional GN0116 units can be daisy chained down from the original unit. The installation of the GN0116 is fast and easy as it only entails the plugging-in of cables and a simple setup via browser GUI interface. It is delivered with Quick Start Guide, rack mounting kit and ATEN's ssConsole (Serial Server Console) for configuration and management.

About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
