Taipei-March 2nd, 2006. ATEN International, leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions, today announced that it will reveal revolutionary new sever room management solutions and demonstrate cutting-edge products that integrate the IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) technology at this year's CeBIT trade show from March 9th to March 15th (Booth A20, Hall 15).

ATEN will demonstrate three live demos including Over the Net Solution, Matrix KVM Solution and IPMI Solution. The Over the NET Solution focuses on the brand new CC1000 Control Center Over the NET, which is software based solution for secure and centralized management of multiple data centers, branch offices and remote locations. The CC1000 effectively consolidates the management of all the ALTUSEN Over the NET devices through a single Internet IP address, and protects them with advanced security procedures that regulate user access and control. It incorporates Role-Based Access and Control (RBAC), IP-based Access Control Lists and IP filtering.

The Over the NET Solution will introduce the new KN2116 KVM over the NET, a 16-port KVM switch that supports remote access up to 16 servers and offers up to 64 user accounts. The KN2116 allows three administrators - one logged in at a local console and two logged in remotely from any IP connected web browser - to manage and control up to 16 devices connected to the KN2116. Each administrator independently controls the KVM via ATEN's embedded Windows or Java, web-based Management Utility. The KN2116 provides a three level security standard and advanced security features such as password protection and advanced encryption technologies (1024-bit RSA, 56-bit DES, 256-bit AES, 128-bit SSL).

ATEN will demonstrate its Matrix KVM Solution with two CL-1200 Slideaway LCD consoles, GN0116 Guardian Over the NET control unit and the new KM0832, an 8-Console, 32-Port Matrix KVM Switch. In the ever-expanding corporate IT environment, the KM0832 allows administrators to control more than 8,000 servers when cascading multiple KM0832 units, or in combination with daisy chaining multiple KM0432, the 4-Console, 32-Port Matrix KVM Switches.

To complete its Matrix KVM solution, ATEN introduces the Matrix Plus MP Series products. For tailored expansion options, these devices allow administrators to add servers to their installations on a one-by-one basis. The MP Series provides complete control and maximum flexibility for USB, PS/2 or SUN systems as the CPU modules can be linked to a master module, and is the perfect solution for limited server room space as it occupies the least amount of rack space.

ATEN will also present the state-of-the-art IPMI Remote Management Solution of the ALTUSEN product range by integrating its brand new Global BMC Management card IP1101 and pcIPcard IP9001 in an ARIMA server. ATEN's Global BMC Management card is essentially a guardian for the internal environment of OS and hardware, including power and temperature. It complies with the stringent IPMI 2.0 compliant management standard, supports multi-channels (KCS, IPMB, ICMB, UART, LAN), includes IPMI SDR, SEL and FRU standard, provides serial-over-LAN function and all major side-band NIC support. With IP1101, a complete solution with no hidden charges, ATEN is the only brand that supports firmware AES encryption and virtual USB media.

Apart from its live demo solutions, ATEN also introduces the KL1116, 16-Port Hideaway LCD KVM Switch. This innovative enterprise-class solution features a LCD monitor and keyboard that slide independently in a hideaway housing, which is especially useful for administrators who want to monitor servers via the LCD panel, but do not need to work on the console. The hideaway housing can comfortably be mounted in less than 1U rack space. In addition, the space saving technology of KL1116 enables administrators to control with two consoles (one bus) up to 16 servers.

About the KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switches are control units that allow access to multiple computers from a single console. Before the development of KVM switches, the only way to control multiple computers from a single console was through a complex and costly network. Now, with the KVM switch, people can easily access multiple computers or platforms (from 2 to up to 4096) in a convenient, space saving and cost effective manner.
