ATEN presents CE-252 KVM Extender and CE-300 Audio/ KVM Extender

Both models feature a Cat 5 cable to connect the local and remote units they consist of, thus extending the distance between the computer system and the console up to 300m (CE-252) or 100m (CE-300). Furthermore, the devices not only support Automatic Gain Control for an optimized video quality, but offer an extra PC port (CE-252) and onboard audio support (CE-300) respectively.


The CE-252 KVM Extender is an easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for PS/2 platforms. As the device provides an extra PC port users may not only control their system from both the local and remote console, but also add a desktop computer to the remote unit. The remote user may work at this PC and without leaving his desk use the push button function of the KVM extender to switch to the KVM installation 300 meters away. CE-252 features two gain control modes for an excellent video transmission (1600x1200 resolutions, DDC2B): the Automatic Gain Control function automatically identifies the distance which needs to be bridged and optimizes the signal strength, and the Adjustable Gain Control allows users to manually adjust the signal strength to compensate for distance.

In addition to the CE-252, ATEN introduces the CE-300 Audio/ KVM Extender which is a KVM signal extender with built-in sound effect function allowing the distribution of multi-media applications. With CE-300 the user can access a remote computer system which is connected to a KVM switch via a PS/2 console (keyboard, monitor, mouse, stereo speakers and microphone) located up to 100 meters away. The CE-300 features dual console operation, push button selection of the active console, Automatic Gain Control and a high video resolution of up to 1280 x 1024.





The CE-300 Audio/ KVM Extender is a convenient-to-establish, cost-effective connectivity solution for challenging locations such as factories and construction sites, but can especially be useful for schools. Due to limited budgets, schools may not be able to afford expensive software licenses for each classroom. ATEN's KVM switches and extenders may solve this problem. With the program on one server, a KVM switch connection to this server and the CE-300, the software is available in a distant classroom and may be used in other classroom-connections, as well. The classroom installation can be further combined with a video splitter to support multiple monitors or a projector, allowing an entire classroom to view and listen to the program.
