International, leading designer, manufacturer
and distributor of cutting-edge connectivity
solutions, enriches its Petite series entry-level
KVM switch with the new 2-Port Hybrid KVM
Switches CS52, CS52A and CS52D. They allow
a flexible combination of PS/2 keyboard
and USB mouse when connecting two computers
with one console (monitor, keyboard and
mouse). All three models, the basic version
CS52, the CS52A with Audio and the CS52D
with both Audio and DVI functionality, feature
a sophisticated design with a Remote Selection
Switch allowing users to control port switching
from the desktop while the Hybrid KVM Switch
itself is conveniently placed in an out-of-the-way
location.

ATEN's new 2-Port Hybrid KVM Switches CS52,
CS52A and CS52D are designed for SOHO users
to control two computers from one console
(i.e. a monitor, PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse).
For a tidy workspace and trouble-free installation,
the devices feature a compact design with
built-in all-in-one cables. The Hybrid KVM
Switches allow users to switch between the
computers via Hotkeys or directly through
the Remote Port Selection Switch, a small
and stylishly designed control unit that
connects to the KVM with a 1.8m cable, saving
even more desktop space. The controller
has a pushbutton for easy switching, two
LEDs indicating the selected port, and a
non-slip pad for extra stability.
CS52, CS52A and CS52D not only allow users
to combine a PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse.
The USB 2.0 mouse port - which also supports
multi-function mice - will link to a USB
Hub for additional USB peripheral sharing.
Instead of plugging in the USB mouse, users
may connect a USB Hub and share even more
USB peripheral devices such as USB mouse,
USB flash drives, digital cameras, etc.
among the connected computers.

" Replacing a standard PS/2 with a
USB mouse may not seem that important at
first glance. However, a major advantage
would be USB mouse is much faster in measuring
how far it moves. This makes onscreen cursor
movement noticeably smoother, especially
in computer games,"says Kevin Chen,
President of ATEN International. "Due
to this, USB mice are becoming more and
more popular these days. ATEN's new 2-Port
Hybrid KVM Switches not only allow a flexible
combination of PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse,
but integrate ATEN's innovative Remote Port
Selection Switch, offer additional USB peripheral
sharing as well as Audio and DVI functionality."
ATEN's CS52A and CS52D are Audio-enabled
supporting both microphones and speakers.
As the KVM and Audio focus can be switched
independently, users may for example listen
to sound files of one PC and at the same
time access programs, documents and video
games of the other PC. The full bass response
of CS52A and CS52D guarantees a rich sound
experience for 2.1 surround sound systems.
Furthermore, CS52D is fully compliant with
the DVI-Digital specifications. Its DVI
(Digital Video Interface) functionality
secures first-class video transfer.
CS52 and CS52A offer an excellent video
quality of up to 2048 x 1536 pixel; CS52D
transmits impressive 1920 x 1200 pixel at
60Hz (DDC2B). The three new models support
all major operating systems (Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD),
integrate the Auto Scan function that monitors
the operation of the connected computers,
and do not require extra power supply.
