KVM Product Innovations - live and in 3D

Taipei, Taiwan, February 21, 2011. ATEN International, worldwide leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, is participating in CeBIT 2011 from March 1 – 5. CeBIT is the most important IT trade show worldwide that will be taking place in Hannover (Germany). ATEN is set to unveil various new technologies and products at the trade show, including the new VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution, three brand-new DVI KVM products, desktop KVM switches with 3D functionality as well as devices featuring USB 3.0. Another ATEN exhibition highlight will be the IP-enabled KN4140v KVM Over the NET™ and its new features. With KVM Over IP solutions, the new CC2000 Control Center Over the NET™ v2.0 and innovative power distribution units, ATEN offers a complete solution for the centralized data center management.

A big surprise will be ATEN's 3D-enabled desktop KVM switches and new connectivity products with USB 3.0 interface, which will be unveiled for the first time at CeBIT 2011. To provide visitors with hands-on experience, ATEN will not only showcase its latest products, but will also be presenting numerous product innovations in live demonstrations at its booth C75 in hall 12.

VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution:
The VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution provides a combination of the VM0808T 8x8 Cat 5 A/V Matrix Switch and the VE500 A/V Over Cat 5 Extender. The VM0808T is a Matrix Switch that routes and distributes audio, video and RS232 signals over distances of up to 300m with 1280x1024 video resolution. The VM0808T can receive data from up to 8 audio/video sources and transmit data to 8 audio/video displays. A single computer's audio/video output can be routed to one or more destinations. The VM0808T offers several convenient ways to access and control the source devices: locally, with front panel pushbuttons and an RS232/485 serial port; and remotely, over the Internet with a browser-based web page interface.

The VM0808T / VE500 combination provides an ideal solution when long runs to the A/V output locations are required, and where versatility and security are essential. The VM0808T is designed for deployment in environments that involve routing VGA signals such as those found in Casinos, Transportation and Logistics Centers, Remote Monitoring installations, Traffic Control Centers, Port Security facilities, Industrial Supervision settings, etc. It is also the A/V system designer's first choice for efficient and economical audio and video signal routing.

DVI KVM Product Innovations:
The CS1768 is a cascadable 8-Port DVI KVM switch which directly connects up to eight PCs via USB 2.0 interface to one workplace (USB mouse and keyboard). The device is fully compliant with the DVI-Digital and DVI-Analog spezifications, and with ATEN's DynaSync™ technology eliminates boot display problems and optimizes the resolution (1920 x 1200 pixel) when switching between connected devices. The integrated 2-port USB 2.0 hub and console audio ports on the front and rear panel of the CS1768 can connect to USB printers, digital cameras, flash drives, or other USB devices – e.g. for IP phone users, and allows the peripheral environment to be expanded.

With the CL6700N, ATEN presents a new single rail DVI LCD console. The CL6700N integrates a 19-inch high-resolution LCD monitor, a full keyboard and a touchpad in a 1U-rack-mountable sliding housing. With DVI-I, the console supports both analog and digital video input. The device features a USB 2.0 port for keyboard, mouse or peripherals, offers connections for USB, VGA or DVI devices at the console and server side, and guarantees an excellent resolution of up to 1280 x 1024 @75 Hz and supports DDC2B.

For the transmission of analog KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) signals, ATEN has developed the new CE620 Dual Link DVI KVM extender. Via Cat 5 cabling the device enables users to operate and administrate computers over a distance of more than 60 meters delivering an impressive video quality of 2560 x 1600 pixel (DVI Dual Link).

Complete Solution for Centralized Data Center Management:
With the latest generation of its CC2000 Control Center Over the NET™ v2.0, new KVM switches with over-IP functionality such as the brand-new KN4140v, and intelligent power distribution units (PDUs), ATEN offers comprehensive, user-friendly solutions for growing IT infrastructures. The CC2000 software platform consolidates all IP-based IT equipment, virtual machines and common-used blade servers in large, dispersed systems. The KN4140v KVM Over the NET™, a Cat 5 KVM switch that supports up to five simultaneous bus sessions, allows users to directly access the system at the local console and also supports four additional, remote logins via LAN, WAN or the internet. Thus, administrators can remotely monitor and control up to 40 servers of one management level (including blade servers) or 640 devices in a two-tiered cascade installation. The redundant power supply guarantees the availability of KN4140v and ensures access to the system even if one line is down. ATEN will present a complete installation in a live demo at CeBIT 2011.

About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device

A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
