ATEN Launches a New Two-Port USB Cable KVM Switch with File Transfer Functionality

CS62T Offers Convenient File Transfer and Audio Functionality in a Small Form Factor

Taipei, Taiwan (June 28, 2011) – ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today introduced a new two-port USB KVM switch in a compact design. The CS62T, which enables users to control two computers via a single VGA console, provides USB peripheral and file sharing between the connected computers – ideal for syncing files and folders between laptop and desktop computers. The new CS62T features an exclusive ATEN technology called Video DynaSync™ which eliminates boot-up display problems and optimizes video resolution when switching between ports.

The CS62T leverages a patented all-in-one design that allows for a neat and tidy desktop installation without the clutter of extra cables. The unit is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, as well as support for Windows 7. Users can switch between computers via hotkeys and mouse. The CS62T offers a mouse port-switching function that enables users to simply double-click on the scroll wheel of a USB mouse to change ports. In addition, it is audio-enabled with support for microphones and speakers. With a full bass response, the CS62T provides a rich sound experience for 2.1 surround systems.

"With its all-in-one compact design, the new CS62T provides desktop users with a convenient method to manage and control two computers without the cable clutter of other solutions," explained Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "The audio-enabled switch is also ideal to transfer files and share USB peripherals among the connected computers. With the launch of the CS62T, we are pleased to offer our customers what we believe is the ultimate in KVM switching functionality."

Another user-friendly feature of the CS62T is power-on detection, which allows the unit to automatically switch to the next powered on computer if the other computer is powered off. Additionally, the unit supports Sun and Mac keyboards via emulation technology. For PC game applications, the CS62T supports a wide range of gaming and multimedia keyboards, and provides superior video resolutions – up to 2048 x 1536.

About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device

A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
